Experienced mechanic here. this was rough. The powder coating on the back plate bolts is too thick, making it nearly impossible to thread them through the frame without damaging the threads. Lots of cursing involved. Once in, it feels very solid, but the protruding bolt head under the bumper leaves a visible gap I'm not happy with. Hoping it earns a star back once I use it for towing.

Important heads-up: if your 2003 Ram 1500 was built before November 2002, this will NOT fit. You'll need the Curt receiver instead. ignore Amazon's warning about that one not fitting. Verify your build date before ordering.

I just finished installing the hitch receiver on my 2021 RAM 1500 Classic Warlock. The install was very easy I had it on and in place in less than 15 minutes. One thing I would recommend is to make sure you have a torque wrench. It will make life alot easier. The Tyger hitch receiver is very well made and extremely sturdy. I highly recommended this item.

I just installed this hitch receiver on my 2017 Ram 1500 Express. The hardest part was pulling the bolts using the guide wires. I was sure the guide wire would snap and the bolts would get stuck inside the rear frame, so I also tied fishing lines to the bolts. I see these hitches get all rusty, so I'll spray mine with fluid film or something. Having a torque wrench is a huge plus. Now I can finally rent a cargo trailer and help a friend move. Factory hitch installation costs about $500+!
